Lawn Care Treatments By Season

SEASON TREATMENT
MAR/APR Early Spring Fertilizer & Pre-Emergent Weed Control Application: A balanced 30%-40% slow-release, high nitrogen, granular fertilizer helps bring the lawn out of winter dormancy, provides thick turf and dark green color. The pre-emergent provides the best soil-level barrier killing crabgrass and weeds at germination before they start to grow. Spot treat weeds.
MAY/JUN Late Spring Fertilizer & Pre-Emergent Weed Control Application: Complete 30%-40% slow-release, granular fertilizer gives turf extended feeding through late spring. The second application of pre-emergent continues the work of the first, extending the control barrier later into the summer, stopping more crabgrass and weeds from germinating. Spot treat weeds.
JUL/AUG Summer Fertilizer Application: Specially formulated low nitrogen, non-burning, slow release iron fertilizer keeps the turf green through summer months, with adequate water. Also builds deep web rooting, which provides tolerance against heat, drought, stress, wear, cold, and disease. Spot treat weeds.
SEP/OCT Fall Fertilizer Application: 50% slow-release, high nitrogen, granular fertilizer that contains important micro nutrients. This treatment re-establishes and maintains important micro nutrient levels that were depleted or lost during summer stress, a key component essential for deep green turf color, and overall health. Spot treat weeds.
NOV/DEC Winter Fertilizer Application: This 80% quick-release, high nitrogen, fertilizer tells grass plants to produce extra carbohydrates in preparation for winter dormancy. These stored carbohydrates promote quick greening and dense turf for the coming spring. This builds resistance against crabgrass and weed encroachment, pests, and disease problems. Spot treat weeds.

Additional Lawn Care Treatments By Season

SEASON SERVICE
JUN/JUL Pest Control (Grubs): Essential for control of all major grass root feeding insects especially grubs, this treatment stops these insects from destroying your lawn before they can even start. One application gives control the rest of the season.
SEP/NOV Aeration/Seeding: When these two processes are done in combination in late summer or fall, your lawn gets the maximum benefit. Aeration loosens the compacted soil by making holes, and then overseeding allows the new seed to settle in the holes and stay protected until germination.
SEP/NOV Soil Testing/Conditioning: Lime conditions the soil and balances soil pH. This is a very important application that also includes calcium and magnesium (essential micro nutrients). Without proper pH levels, most of the fertilizer is locked up in the soil and cannot be effectively absorbed by the grass plants, making the fertilizer almost ineffective. A soil test may be required to determine the amount of lime needed.
AS NEEDED Pest Control (Ants, Fleas, & Ticks): Important for properties with sandy soil which is ideal for excessive ant populations or for properties that are lined by wooded areas which carry high flea and tic populations. Multiple consecutive applications are necessary for complete control.
AS NEEDED Disease Control: Spots or discolored patches in your lawn may be the result of a disease or fungus. Regular inspections and proper treatment of problem areas help prevent widespread lawn damage.
